I wanted a double door, double entry shed that would not require painting (ruled out wood), wood not rust (ruled out metal) and would withstand any weather condition. After much research I decided on Lifetime Sheds, I wanted the largest one they had (which was 15 x 8) which would not require a permit (needed 120 sq ft), the Lifetime model #60079 fit the bill.
I had 4" of concrete poured over 2" base rock, with rebar every 18" to make a level firm surface for the shed to sit on. The shed does have a floor that the sides push down into, then the metal trusses go over the top and everything screws down.
If you have not built one before, it can take 12-16 hours to assemble with two people. The instructions that you receive with the shed are helpful BUT note that the Front left is to the side entrance on left as pictured, not the front where the windows are! This had me stumped as one corner would not screw together and I had to call assembly support.
It is of good enough quality that it should last in California, it is water tight as long as you screw everything correctly. It has two vents with screen mesh to keep the bugs out. It looks like a small cottage once assembled and looks really cute.
You do get one shelf 8' wide and some corner quarter round like shelves, along with some hooks and a tool corral. It does get a little stuffy when you open the door, but it clears out, also the windows do open inside upwards. You can watch an installation video at http://youtu.be/dXc__8QN7LM
I like it very much, I would buy again and recommend it, 5 stars out of 5.
