I have a 6 year old and 20 month old and wanted a playset that didn't require annual maintenance like the wood playsets do.
This arrives by freight. Not UPS or FedEx... but by freight. They dropped a crate off at our home, about 3.5' x 3.5' by 10' (total guess, but know this is heavy and the boxes in the crate take 2 people to move).
I consider myself a average handy man... I can build stuff following instructions. I called in a friend to assist who was equally "handy". The two of us assembled this in about 5 hours total. My advice... sort all hardware into ziplock bags and label them prior to starting. We probably burned 30 minutes in "hunting for the right size bolt" over the course of installation.
Lifetime really does think of EVERYTHING during installation. The install tools required are allen wrenches (all sizes needed are included), a socket set (you provide), and a large phillips screwdriver (they include a tip for your drill!). Also, they include a "threader" for your drill, because without fail, some of us will cross thread the pre-drilled/threaded holes. I did this on two holes and simply used the threading tool to re-bore the hole and the screw fit perfectly. (Reminder, ALWAYS remove the threader from the hole by putting the drill in reverse.)
The swing seats are green, just like the roof and slide. In my California climate (100 degree summers) the slide and swings get hot. That's my only complaint.
The legs are sturdy and even when I swing on the swings (175lbs) the swing set doesn't "rock" nor do the legs lift.
The ultimate test of a product is "will the kids play with it?" The playset has been a huge hit with the kids. They would play out there all day and night if they could. I would recommend this solution to anyone looking for an alternative to wood playsets.
