I have a 10x8 Arrow shed put up in 1990 that has seen its share of wear and tear, including tree branches falling from my neighbor's yard. So after gently evening out the dents in the roof I decided to strengthen it with this kit.
It was relatively easy to install, but you should plan on having a drill to drill holes in the pieces to join them together with the bolts and nuts, and a metal snipper to cut the supports to size for your shed.
Also handy, as I found out when I originally put up the shed, are locking pliers to hold the nuts in place while tightening the bolts which are sometime in places had to hold otherwise.
The instructions called for removing the roof panels, but as another reviewer noted, this is not really necessary, and in my case impossible since the old bolts and nuts and screws would have been immovable due to age/rust. Also, since replacement roof panels are not available, and my patching over the years had not stopped some leaks in the roof, I had installed five 2ft x 8ft corrugated steel panels over the original roof (worked perfectly by the way).
On my 10x8 Lexington gambrel roof shed, the kit adds two new 8ft beams going from front to back between the center beam and the side beams.
The only hassle I had was I had to remove temporarily all the equipment and a shelf at the rear I had put up.
When I was drilling one of the hole to hold the beams together, my drill bit went through the old roof because there is only an inch or two clearance on the descending side of the gambrel.
