separator The 10x20 Commander Metal Storage Shed kit arrived in four large boxes. Be prepared for a bit of a shock at the number of parts necessary to complete the shed build. It's a little overwhelming at first but after you spend some time getting familiar with the numbering system and the instruction manual the number of parts becomes less of an issue. Bottom line, the best advice I have is to read the manual (download it online) and know the build process at a high level at least a few days before you receive the shed materials. For my shed build I did not want 2" of excess floor around the shed so I reduced the subfloor dimension by 1.5" on all sides which left me with minimal overhang (don't do this for concrete foundations though). The most difficult part of the overall shed build is getting the truss system to the proper width--the width in the manual is very specific and you MUST ensure the width is correct otherwise you will have problems down the line with screw alignment. We used long 20' ratchet straps to pull the trusses together to the exact dimensions as specified. My wife and I built the shed over 2 days; I would recommend a 3rd helper if possible since some of the processes would be MUCH easier with an additional set of hands (specifically standing up the truss system). One minor annoyance is that the door system does not appear to be designed to limit water intrusion very well. The door construction and design actually appears to capture water in the lower door channel. Overall, very satisfied with the shed. Great value.
